Notes of gratitude from my weekend Calgary Folk Music Festival

Somehow after all the help packing up, setting up & looking after our animals (all while running his own business) JF Gingras also made time to offer me breaks, bring cold drinks, enjoy the music with me after closing, and help with load out. He is a cheeky force & my 💗

It’s pretty special the way this community supports one another, looks out for each other & cheers one another on! 👯

Definitely excited to take a little break and then get back into my routine - gotta enjoy that 🌞 while we have it!

I feel so lucky to have retail partners who are both supportive & patient! Being a one woman operation means wearing all the hats: keeping storefronts supplied, while also preparing for major markets - it’s a new level of busy for me & I truly appreciate the chance to work with these beautiful YYC businesses!

This was my first year vending at Folk Fest & to say it was special would be an understatement! I caught up with friends new & old, listened to artists I know & love & discovered ones that will play on repeat! I had sewn a number of handmade garments from vintage textiles & it was such a treat to see them worn around the festival! Thank you so much for your support!

My handmade garments are a creative expression that’s near and dear to my heart. Each piece is designed & sewn to showcase the beauty of the vintage fabrics I am working with. While the gathering of these fabrics never ceases, the urge to create with them (and the courage to cut into them) generally finds me in the spring and summer months. Designed as a nod to my favourite eras in fashion history, they offer a dose of whimsy for your wardrobe, while helping to reduce textile waste. I’m creating tops, dresses & sets that’ll be hanging in my booth at Calgary Folk Music Festival July 23-26.

This restock I leaned into pieces that bring the heat for stampede, and pieces that seamlessly find a place in our styling year round. Choosing secondhand clothing we’re excited to wear on repeat, extends the lifespan of our garments and shrinks their environmental footprint. When gearing up for Stampede, there’s no better place to find yourself than wild rabbit vintage and handmade goods - thoughtfully curated vintage western wear, locally handmade goods & a damn fine cup of coffee - in the heart of YYC’s East Village!
