Recently, we had the rare pleasure of having an original Chris Cran (Chris Cran) in the shop. Chris is a contemporary Canadian painter concerned with perception, illusion, and upsetting conventional gallery expectations.

Costas is vibing with this pair of images from the acclaimed Canadian photographer Fred Herzog. Herzog was a pioneer of colour photography and having his work in the shop is always a pleasure.

Yvonne Mullock (Yvonne Mullock) was in the shop late this summer having reproductions and documentation made of some of her work. Most of what Yvonne brought in was unusual but this series of porcelain underwear might take the cake.

There's still time to check out some of Yvonne's work at Norberg Hall (Norberg Hall) as part of her and Lindsay Montgomery's (Lindsay Montgomery) show, Soothsayers. The show is on until October 3rd, 2026.

Recently we had the pleasure of printing these stunning, challenging, and provocative photographs by Brendan Fernandes (π˜½π™§π™šπ™£π™™π™–π™£ π™π™šπ™§π™£π™–π™£π™™π™šπ™¨), a Kenyan-Canadian artist based in Chicago. Brendan is exhibiting his work at Esker Foundation from September 19 to December 20, 2026. These photographs explore a variety of themes through performance.

For Brendan Fernandes, dance is political, celebratory, and collaborative, offering a language to proclaim visibility, assert identity, and to seek connection or joy. As a q***r, young newcomer to Toronto, dance gave Fernandes community, belonging, and a means of creative expression. After an injury ended his dance career prematurely, Fernandes turned to visual art, building a multidisciplinary practice that raises questions around migration, systemic injustice, colonial legacies, and the complexities of identity, often guided by his personal and familial history. Sitting at the intersection between dance and visual arts, Fernandes’ work is often, in his own words, β€œpart ballet, part q***r dance party, part political protest.”

Brady's vibing with some gorgeous cast bronze goat sculptures by Joe Fafard. These goats were in the shop to be documented by our own GOAT, Tieran Green. Trust me, this was not even close to the worst pun Tieran made that day.

Today Brady is vibing with three etchings, two by David Hockney and one by Lucien Freud. These intimate little sketches showcase some surprising similarities between Hockney and Freud. These two British painters were contemporaries and in 2002 they even painted portraits of each other.
