Our annual staff summer fun day this year was summer fun weekend in Palm Springs and Los Angeles! We started in Palm Springs touring the amazing mid-century homes and vintage stores. The highlight of the trip was Dwell on Design in Los Angeles. The opportunity to tour exceptional, architect designed contemporary homes provided our team with renewed energy, excitement and great new ideas to bring to our residential projects.

Well, it is now out of the "box"! Our Edmonton affordable housing project entirely constructed out of shipping containers!

Calgary-based Ladacor Adanced Modular Systems is constructing a four-floor hotel using old steel shipping containers.

Clients will often ask me when they are looking for a house, "what's a good age of house to buy?" My answer often is to look at when the economy was historically down and you will typically find well built homes. In boom times, the quality of construction typically suffers, so for Calgary, I would not suggest buying a house of the mid 1970's or even the last couple of years for that matter. If you can find an early 1980's house they will be well built. (Bust time in Calgary). 1950's and 1960's homes were typically quite well built as well. We are again finding ourselves in a down market and with that in mind, if you are planning to build, or renovate your home, NOW is the time to do it. The availability of high quality trades is really good right now and labour prices are dropping. The fly-by-night contractors from wherever have flown back home.

The neighbours in the area refer to this as "The White House". The house and suite over the garage were designed to take full advantage of the park side setting

Robert Pashuk Architecture is pleased to announce that the retail interior showroom is now open! Pomp & Circumstance had their client appreciation night on Thursday Night. Despite the weather the turn out was great!
