Road Dawg Ramps

Road Dawg Ramps Dog ramps designed for tractor trailers, personal vehicles, custom designs and coming soon small air Thus the design for the truck ramp was conceived.

These designs have come from the need to keep dog and owner safe while loading and unloading our beloved pets in and out of our vehicles. The design is unique and meant to be able to be used by even those with some forms of physicals limitations as they are lightweight and compact. The ramps are foldable, high quality aluminum, easy to clean and made of a rip-stop material. They are also designed

to be repairable in the event that a part may need to be replaced in the future, so as to minimize the impact on the environment. My design began when I drove long haul truck and took my Rottweiler, Cherokee, with me. As he got older, he began having problems jumping in and out of the truck and eventually hurt himself, catching his foot in the steps the first time and almost breaking his foot and damaging his shoulder the second time. It became apparent to me that I needed a ramp or step system to get him in and out of the truck as I was also dealing with a back injury. Lifting him was a necessity as there was nothing available on the market that could or would fit the need at the time that wasn't as heavy as he was or so big I had no place to store it. It has taken many years to get me to here, but this is now in honor of my truck dawg Cherokee, my inspiration, my protector and my co-driver. We are in the process of creating the prototype for the passenger vehicle ramp. This design has also come out of the need for safety for dog and owner. The current products on the market are great for vans and SUV's, but don't assist your best friend when they need to get into the back seat and keep them away from the line of traffic. Our design allows you to load your pup in any parking lot, even when there is a car beside you and they are even lighter and smaller than our trucker models allowing for storage in even the smallest of car trunks.

Would anyone be willing to do a measurements on their vehicles for me please and comment below? I'm looking for as big a variety as possible with the following information:
1. Make of vehicle
2. Model of vehicle
3. Year of vehicle
4. Measurements in inches or centimeters (please specify) for A, B, C, D, E and F on the diagram
5. If a minivan, please measure frame at the bottom of sliding door when open and mark as D
Any help that you can give me on this would be greatly appreciated and allow me to move forward with my dog ramps.

Thanks in advance

So I've decided to bite the bullet and take a risk. Finally moving forward with the dog ramps for Road Dawg Ramps by updating the business plan, see how many letters of interest I can get together to add to the plan and proceed with applying for funding/financing to get things off the ground. I will be making the appointment for financing for the end of next week or beginning of the following week. I will be doing a live video chat @ 3 pm MST with the head of Furry Hobos N Hiway Hero"s Dog Transport Margaret Foster-hyde this afternoon and sharing it once we've done this. It is finally time that I move forward with this. If anyone is interested in the ramps, and is willing to write an email to me at [email protected], it would be greatly appreciated and will assist me in finding funding for the project. Thanks to all that are willing to do this. The email won't commit you to purchasing a ramp, it will just show companies willing to finance the project of the interest in the ramps.

First prototype will be installed and tested before the end of October. We will post a video update on its trial run in the next week or two.

Great news today! We have found a welder that we will be working with and have been told that our initial prototype for the semi ramp should be ready for testing in about 2 weeks. Once we have installed the prototype, I will start posting videos of our progress. When testing is done, and the bugs have been worked out, we will begin production on the first few aluminum ramps. We are also starting to work on the prototype for the passenger vehicle ramps.

09/08/2020

We are looking for an aluminum fabricator or welder (prefer Calgary area or at least within Alberta) that is open, willing to help us get our prototype manufactured with potential for a future contract and has no issues with communication. We have attempted to connect with numerous companies since CoVid started with no luck as of yet. If anyone has any recommendations that we can pursue to get these produced and tested, we would be greatly appreciative.

Due to the pandemic, everything is temporarily on hold. The company that was assisting in producing the prototype has had to shut down briefly and I am currently driving to make sure fresh fruits and veggies make it back to Canada. As soon as things are a bit more sane and my need as a driver lessens, I will be pushing through to have the prototype completed so I can personally test it. I will keep everyone updated as things change. I can't express enough thanks to all the essential workers that continue to keep my wheels rolling so I can do my part during this craziness.

Bringing in an engineer to consult on design for correct materials and design. Once specs and design are finalized we will find someone appropriate to produce the initial prototype so it can withstand weights up to 250 pounds and have a sleek design to eliminate interference with the steps on the semis. Personal vehicle ramps are in the design process as well and, if this prototype works well, the passenger vehicle ramp prototype will be in production soon after.

Materials are on order for prototype. Hope to have a video up soon of its maiden voyage.
