Inglewood Art Supplies (est.2000) moved from Inglewood to its current location in Bridgeland in 2014. We loved Inglewood, but our original location had long been slated for redevelopment. When the building was to be knocked down we relocated, and so here we are Inglewood Art Supplies - now in Bridgeland! We are known for a large selection of pre-stretched canvasses and braced birch panels and fabulous staff of practicing artists.

Derwent makes watercolour pencils as well as Inktense pencils - Here are a few things that make them different! ✏️ (P.S. - Both are on sale for 20% off this month!)

· Watercolour pencils are dried watercolour 'leads' that you can use as is or incorporate water. These can be painted out with a brush and water after drawing, or the ends can be wet and you can draw with the 'lead' moistened. Because they are just like watercolours, they will reactivate when wet, so they don't dry permanent.

· Inktense pencils are more opaque and do dry permanent - acting similar to pigmented inks (in the form of a dry pencil). These can be blended and drawn with like pencils crayons, but also wet and painted with like their watercolour cousins.

Please note - our alleyway driveway is getting poured Thursday so our alleyway and customer parking in behind the building will not be accessible from noon Thurs to noon Mon. Customer Parking is available on 6th street and at the Riverside School Parking Lot during this time.

This amazing medium is useful for all stages of oil painting - Prepping your panel or canvas, underpainting and washes, and re-saturating dried paint layers. It's Gamblin's leanest medium, made with gamsol, safflower oil, and soybean alkyd.

Ever wondered what the difference between Holbein's 'Acrylic Gouache' and 'Designer Gouache' is? 🤔

The big difference between them is in how they dry. 🌵

'Designer Gouache' is gum arabic based and dries similar to watercolour; If it gets wet again after drying, it will reactivate causing it to lift and move again like when it was wet.

'Acrylic Gouache' (formerly ‘Acryla’) has an acrylic polymer base, so when it dries it dries permanent and can be layered over top of.

Both paint lines offer vibrant colours, high opacity, and a beautiful matte finish. The main difference is in their binders - so knowing how they dry can help decide which would work best for your desired application 🎨
