This is a link to the speech I did yesterday at The House of Commons. Please watch this. Normally I don't like getting this personal but this is important.

Over taxation and poor regulation has led to a black market that puts adults users and kids alike, in danger. It creates youth access to unregulated products. It causes organized crime to target rule following and tax paying business's creating revenue loss for the government, loses the country jobs, and puts family business's in harms way. We have seen this pattern not only in other countries but in our own 30 years ago when they did the same thing with ci******es. Lower the tax, stop the crime.
Create a culture around pushing Canadians towards a harm reduction product because we know abstinence preaching and bans have the opposite effect.
Big to***co is responsible for less that 20% of the v**er industries sales, they are only sold in convenience stores which, when looking at the public registry for to***co infractions, are the ones caught selling to Youths. Not real v**e stores. We are not big to***co. We will never be big to***co. We provide harm reduction products to adult users and should not be punished for being a net positive on our health care system. We want to keep kids safe. Facilitating a thriving black market is what this tax has done. That's where youth secure these products.
To boot - in a neighboring community- there was a gas station caught selling to***co to youth once in 2023 and again in 2024. In 2025 they were allowed to open a v**e store a few hundred meters from the front door of a High school. These are your bad actors. This should not be allowed. Support real licensed specialty v**e stores and not these bad actors.

In Ottawa, the Canadian Va**ng Association raises concerns about the impact of Canada’s excise tax rate on va**ng products. Speaking with reporters are Sam Tam (CVA president) and James Dolph (local va**ng business owner). (no interpretation)
