There was just one small problem… National Thrift Store Day landed on a day we’re closed. But around here, we'll take any reason to celebrate - especially when it gives us a chance to show our appreciation for our customers!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday and helped make our Christmas in July sale such a fun day!

Also, thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and most of all, our amazing customers. Your smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm made the day one to remember.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming three groups of students from the Shad program to The Essentials Boutique!

As part of their program, students toured our facility to learn about social enterprise, sustainability, and how second-hand shopping helps make a positive impact on both our community and the environment.

We shared the journey of donated items, how we work to divert reusable goods from the landfill, and how every purchase at The Essentials Boutique supports Centra Cam Vocational's mission of creating meaningful employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.

Thank you to the Shad students, instructors, and staff for spending part of your day with us! We hope you left with a greater appreciation for the power of donating, reusing, and shopping second-hand. Every donation has a story, every purchase makes a difference, and together we can build a more sustainable community. 💙
