For all of you attending the October Retreat - or for those sitting on the fence- this is a wallet that Purple Katz sells the kits for. Tracey will be teaching the course and delivering the kits to the retreat- total cost is $50 ( no shipping) for the course and the materials. You can pick and choose the materials you want in your kit - just reach out to Tracy to buy/order your kit. She needs 10 kits ordered to do the class / workshop. She’s going to teach it weds afternoon- takes 3 hrs to do the wallet.

Retreat registration is open now for Oct 5/9,2026. Join us for 5 full days or for 3 days only ( weds to Friday). We are being flexible with the two options as many want to have a shorter option available. @

Announcing the Fall Retreat for Hunny Buns Quilters - Mulhurst Bay Lutheran Camp , October 5-9,2026.

From 8 am October 5,2026 to 3 pm October 8,2026

2 options :

-5 days of retreat- cost is $575 and includes all course fees and garage sale fees, meals and accommodation

Or

-3 days of retreat (weds to Friday) for $360 includes course fee for making a bag @(supply your own materials/supplies) all meals and accommodations

Deposits are being taken for $100 now with the balances due by August 25,2026. All deposits are non refundable.

Check-in will depend upon the days you sign up for.

We will continue to have a liquor license BUT once again I counsel you to behave!! Persons losing control or displaying non acceptable behaviour will be escorted off the property and will not be allowed to return. ( this is your only warning)

I am trying to spread the work burden for retreat so it’s easier on me.
I will be trying to downsize my inventory thumbprint with Hunny Buns so that there is less for me to track and move around- my loss is hopefully your gain.

Deposits of $100 are welcome now to secure your 5 or 3 day spot. Balance will be due on August 25,2026. As it was before, deposits are non refundable. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. ( same great chef as we have always had - Chef Gail -we can accommodate any dietary needs)

I wanted to reach out to everyone involved with Hunny Buns to update you all on my progress. First of all after a lengthy stay in the hospital and lots of physiotherapy plus occupational therapy I have now returned home to Camrose to work on my further recovery. I’m not at 100 % yet but to say I closer to 80% reflects my reality…. I remain on daily physical and mental therapy regimens so I can get to 100%. They say it takes approximately 6 months to recover from a stroke so we’re still in the recovery window.
I remain on many drugs- all pharmaceutical I will indicate- that have my immunity very compromised at present. I am picking very of few situations to take part in personally as get a simple “cold” is not so simple for me to recover from. I have had the flu, 3 colds and pink eye in the last 6 weeks alone. It has been a long struggle.

I owe a huge thank you to those of my friends who executed the spring retreat; they did not have a lot of coaching to execute the retreat- they did a great job!! The fall retreat information will be confirmed this week - Oct 5-9,2026. If you’re coming, please indicate early as there is lots of interest.

The fall retreat has some “helpers” so that I will be able to share the load and take it in stride during my recovery time. I thank all of you who have reached out by card, email or by phone offering your well wishes. There were days I was not sure I could manage climbing the recovery path- each of you who offered help in my recovery made my effort continue and “ one step at a time “ has become my motto.
