Bookseller Sophia Ross Eckert from The Spaniel's Tale Bookstore shared with us why readers are about to be obsessed with Exit Party. 🤭

[Exit Party is my favourite Emily St. John Mandel novel since Station Eleven. Set after the collapse of two versions of the United States, the novel plays with perspective, form, and character to create worlds that resemble our own while diverging in fascinating ways. This is an immersive and thoughtful novel, perfect for readers who appreciate both the personal and the political.]

The Digital Delusion. Jared Cooney Horvath - PhD, MEd( Penguin Random House) This is a really important look at screens and schools. Teachers and parents should all read this book. Cognition , memory , and learning is now down in schools having been an upward trend generation over generation. Why - after extensive research it stems from the widespread introduction of screens in schools , screen were introduced in early2010s , and even though kids are spending more time in school learning is going down .This book was sought after at April Ulead conference but was not available at that time in Canada. It suggests a way forward back to learning. Not rejection of technology but a smarter way forward. Goes well with The Anxious Generation book which also discusses the issues of mental health in youth that increased from the early 2010s.
