Start your weekend right with our fresh, artisanal organic sourdough, available every Friday morning at The Village Collective. From crusty golden loaves to perfectly baked baguettes, each batch is crafted with simple, wholesome ingredients and baked to perfection.

Some of the most interesting conversations I’ve had in years have occurred in this sweet little store. A recurring observation that convinced me there is a very universal experience here: we spend the first half of our lives accumulating things and the second half editing them. And not just clothes.

We get rid of the jeans we're keeping for when we lose 15 pounds. The shoes that hurt but were expensive. The dress that's beautiful but isn't us. The things bought for a version of ourselves we thought we were supposed to become.

And somewhere around the same time, many women start doing exactly the same thing with the rest of their lives. We stop saying yes because we don't want someone to think we're difficult. We become less interested in maintaining friendships that are completely one-sided. We stop automatically volunteering to organize everything. We don't need everyone to like us. We start protecting our time. And perhaps most importantly, we discover that "No, I don't want to" is actually a perfectly legitimate reason.

There's also a funny clothing angle in how our priorities change. At 25 you might tolerate shoes that make your feet bleed because they're fabulous. At 55? Absolutely not. Those bastards are going back.

Maybe getting older isn't about becoming less tolerant. Maybe we're just finally getting better at deciding what deserves space in our lives.
