A LYS is more than just a store to buy yarn - it's about community, growth, feeling the textiles we choose and so much more! It's colour, and conversation, and coffee, and sharing those little pieces of ourselves in a space that brings us together!

We will have a few special sales and a small gift with each purchase on Saturday!

Did I mention I get a bit schmoopey for LYS day? Read on for the schmoop...
I believe this day is more than a celebration of a store but it represents the gratitude I feel as an owner of this space towards each and every person who has supported us over the last year. It represents the pride in each and every skein and accessory we choose to offer the community. It represents the huge accomplishment of still being here. It's the appreciation I have for all the incredible people who help to make this happen. It's the feeling I have closing up the shop after an incredible day of meaningful conversations, of oohs and aahs over the latest makes that folks share, of cheeks hurting from laughter, or of the lasting feeling from a much needed hug.

To Ann, Agi, Janice, Melanie, Cathy, Jess, Katherine, Steve (Sven), Atoosa - You have been absolute rockstars over this last year. It has been a hard year for so many reasons and I can not count the number of times your support has kept us going.

Great things will continue to happen here at Makers Lodge!

Have you been hoping to learn to sew?! This is a perfect class to get started!

Dates: May 30th and June 6th
Time: 1:30-3:30pm
Location: Makers Lodge
Teachers: Karrie from Skipped Stitches and Christine from Makers Lodge
Cost: $190

We will take you through all the basics of working a sewing machine, picking a pattern and fabrics, different seams and much more. Karrie is a machine technician with years of experience and Christine welcomes you to this beautiful space with the intention of learning!
