Plus-size bridal is not a straight-size gown… just made bigger.
And this is exactly why we go to market. 🤍
We need to SEE the gowns.
On bodies like our brides.
We need to see how they move, where they sit, how they’re structured, and how the design actually translates beyond a sketch.
Because sketching is one skill.
Pattern making is another.
Sewing is another.
And grading a gown for a plus-size body? That’s an entirely different conversation.
You can’t simply take a straight-size pattern, increase the measurements and call it plus-size bridal.
The proportions change. The construction changes. The support changes. The fit changes. The way the gown interacts with the body changes.
That’s why conversations like this one with Katie Yeung , founder of Bridal by Katie Yeung matter so much to us. Katie understands that designing for plus-size bodies requires intention, expertise and actually putting those gowns on real plus-size bodies.
We refuse to buy blindly.
Our brides deserve to see themselves represented in the gowns we bring into our boutique — not as an afterthought, but as part of the design process. ✨
This is what we mean when we say plus-size bridal, done right. ❤️
