We wanted to share it, but there are also a few things mentioned that we wanted to clarify — because apparently this is a good opportunity for a little Chrupalo Pest Control behind-the-scenes honesty. 😂

1️⃣ First things first: we ARE a business. 🤪

This is how we help support our family, and yes — we do need to make money doing it. We’ve also learned over the last three years that having a big heart in business sometimes means people will take advantage of it.

BUT…

Being a business and genuinely caring about people are not mutually exclusive.

We will work with people when we reasonably can. We’ll be upfront about what we believe you actually need. And we’re not interested in piling unnecessary treatments or expenses onto someone who is already overwhelmed.

In fact, we’ve been in business for three years and haven’t raised our prices since we opened. (But hint - that is coming down the pipeline 😞)

We’re also the only pest control company offering PMH employees a year-round discount. ❤️

2️⃣ We LOVE that you call us… but we hate that you HAVE to.

Because we know nobody wakes up excited to say:

“Heyyyy… sooooo… I have cockroaches.” 😬😂

That phone call can feel embarrassing, scary and completely overwhelming.

That’s why education is such a huge part of what we do. We want you to understand what we found, what we’re going to do, why we’re doing it and what YOU need to do next.

No judgement. No making you feel embarrassed or ashamed. Just: Okay, this is what we’re dealing with. Here’s the game plan. Let’s get to work.

3️⃣ And YES — they’re correct about cockroach prep!

There really isn’t a bunch of crazy prep you need to do before we treat for cockroaches. You don’t need to pull your entire house apart or empty everything you own.

Bed bugs are a different story. 😅 There is preparation involved for those treatments, and we provide our customers with a checklist so you know exactly what needs to be done.

After 10+ years working in pest control, one of us might be slightly more jaded than the other 😂 — but we both understand how vulnerable it can feel to pick up that phone.

You are not the first person to have bugs. You won’t be the last. And you’re not going to shock us. (Well Jen might say EWWWWW Gross! If you tell her you found a snake and she DEMANDS you do NOT send pictures 🤪🤘)

We’re here to deal with the problem, not judge the person dealing with it. ❤️

You FINALLY turn off the GPS because you actually remember where you're going...
..and it IMMEDIATELY updates to your next stop. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Our daughter, our niece, and I absolutely LOST IT laughing. 😂😂😂

My GPS knows our daughter better than I do. 💀🤣

BUT... we're stocked up again with bait stations and all the anti-ant stuff! (Don't ask me what it's actually called... I'm the social media person, not the pest control expert. 😂)

🐜 Ants acting like they pay rent? 🐜

Ants may be tiny, but they can lead to major issues. In fact, they’re estimated to cause up to $20 million in property damage across Canada each year.

Once ants find their way into your home through small cracks, they leave a chemical trail that guides others directly to food sources. These trails often lead back to a nearby nest.

Outdoor nests can ruin lawns and gardens, while indoor infestations—hidden within walls or foundations—can compromise structural integrity by damaging wood, insulation, and even electrical wiring.

Certain ant species can also deliver painful stings, with venom that may trigger skin inflammation, muscle cramps, and headaches in some individuals.

Additionally, some ants—like pharaoh ants—are known to transmit harmful bacteria, including salmonella, staphylococcus, and clostridium, which can result in serious illnesses such as botulism.

Ants not only contaminate food and create an eyesore, but their colonies can also grow rapidly, making them increasingly difficult to eliminate.

If you're spotting sawdust or weird little trails, those ants might be turning your place into their summer resort. If there's sawdust along your window sills, doors, or any other wooden surfaces, it's time to call an exterminator quickly.
