We are ok and we are open! Hot coffee, fresh baked goods and a gallery full of independent Maritime art.

After quite the stormy weekend and a long power outage, we are back on track and open our usual hours! The National Park is open and the community of Chéticamp is functioning as usual. We were very lucky to receive much less rain than other parts of the island. If you are in the area we would love to see you!

Our thoughts are with everyone affected and we hope the repairs happen quickly. The State of Local Emergency has been lifted for Inverness and Victoria Counties. The State of Local Emergency remains in place for Richmond County. Travel is not prohibited; however, residents are encouraged to assess road conditions and check 511 before heading out.

Cape Breton Island is (mostly) open and ready to welcome you!

A local state of emergency has been lifted for Inverness and Victoria counties following this past weekend's heavy rain, and remains in place only in Richmond County while crews finish assessing roads and infrastructure. The main highways and roads for tourism traffic are all open and you will be able to get around the Island normally during your visit. We recommend checking 511.novascotia.ca before choosing your route to plan around any local road work.

Come explore the Island, we can't wait to see you, and you won't be disappointed!
