What does washer capacity really mean?
Cu. Ft. tells you how much space is inside the washer, and choosing the right capacity can make a big difference in your everyday laundry.
Here’s a simple guide:
• 𝟐.𝟎–𝟐.𝟗 𝐂𝐮. 𝐅𝐭. — 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲
Best for smaller everyday loads and about one Twin sheet set. A great option for apartments, condos and smaller laundry spaces.
• 𝟒.𝟎–𝟒.𝟒 𝐂𝐮. 𝐅𝐭. — 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲
A good everyday size that can comfortably handle about one Queen sheet set per load.
• 𝟒.𝟓–𝟓.𝟎 𝐂𝐮. 𝐅𝐭. — 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲
Designed for larger laundry loads and can handle bigger bedding, including a King sheet set, depending on the model.
• 𝟓.𝟐–𝟓.𝟓 𝐂𝐮. 𝐅𝐭. — 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚-𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲
Offers more room for King-size bedding and larger family loads.
And washers can get even bigger, some models reach around 6.0 Cu. Ft. or more. If you have a big family or regularly wash large loads, extra capacity may be something worth considering.
Whatever size you choose, 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐲. Laundry needs room to move so water and detergent can circulate through the load properly. The tighter everything is packed, the harder it is to get an even, thorough wash.
