If you make things, you should probably know this place exists. Bow River is the kind of shop that makes a lot more sense in person. Rows of wood, stacks tucked into corners, unusual species, figured pieces, offcuts, blanks and material you probably weren’t expecting to find.

Come in with a project. Dig around. Ask questions. Tell us what you’re making. We’ll help you find the right piece and cut it down to the size you actually need.

There’s a lot more around here than what makes it onto Instagram.

Instrument woods. Knife handle blocks and scales. Spalted maple. Quilted maple. Figured pieces. Oddball cuts. Big slabs. Small pieces. And stacks of wood that have been sitting here waiting for the right project to come along. That’s half the fun of coming to the mill.

Let us know what you’re making, dig through the stacks, talk wood for a while and find the piece that works. If you need it cut to a particular size, we can do that too.

If you build guitars, make knives, turn wood, carve, restore, or just like making things with your hands, come by the shop and have a look around.

Calling all knife makers. We’ve got the good stuff.

Spalted maple, quilted maple, maple burl and figured pieces with enough character to make a one-of-one handle or set of scales.

And because no two pieces are quite the same, this is one of those things that’s better done in person. Come by the Bow River shop in Chilliwack, BC, dig through the stacks and find the piece that belongs on your next build.
