Today is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write.
After a lot of reflection, I’ve made the decision to close Okay Alright’s physical location at 69 Hurontario st on September 15.
This wasn’t an easy decision, and it certainly wasn’t one I ever imagined making.
Many of you knew Baloo. He wasn’t just my dog-he became part of Okay Alright, and somehow became part of this community too. While I will always be grateful for the love you’ve shown him, I’ve realized that walking into this space every day, surrounded by so many memories, has made it difficult for me to move forward. Along with a lot of other signs telling me it’s time for a reset, I know it’s time to close this chapter.
But I want to make one thing very clear…
Okay Alright is not closing.
The storefront is.
I’ll continue online while I take some time to heal and regroup, and figure out what the next version of Okay Alright looks like. Maybe that’s online for a while. Maybe it’s pop-ups. Maybe it’s another storefront someday. Right now, I’m allowing myself the space not to know-and to be excited about whatever comes next.
To help us turn the page, The Next Chapter Sale starts now. This sale will help us to prepare for a fresh start. (A few of our core brands- including Salt & Stone, Vacation Inc., DS & Durga, and some others- will continue online and won’t be part of the sale)
More than anything, I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for every conversation, every recommendation, every visit, every purchase, every laugh, and every moment you’ve shared with me over the years.
This little shop became so much more than I ever imagined because of all of you.
I don’t see this as goodbye.
I see it as the end of one beautiful chapter.
I hope you’ll come by over the next few weeks, say hello, and help us celebrate everything this space has been.
Here’s to the next chapter. ❤️
