Sometimes the perfect backdrop is right in your own backyard. 🤍

I have to give a huge thank you to my friend Carla Duggan Szabo for helping me capture these photos of my new crystal keepsakes.

Photographing crystal is not easy — between reflections, light and trying to show all the little details in the engraving, I was struggling to capture just how beautiful they are in person.

Carla took these for me on a beautiful day right in her backyard — no AI, no generated backgrounds, just natural light, a gorgeous Newfoundland backdrop and a very patient friend behind the camera. 🤍

And I think she absolutely nailed it.

Sometimes it's about knowing exactly what they love.

This tumbler was designed for someone who loves to sew — right down to the little details in the engraving.

That's one of my favourite things about custom work. Taking something useful and turning it into something that feels like it was made specifically for that person.

Because those are usually the gifts they remember. 🤍

I've been working on a new ornament for this Christmas, and this one is about more than adding a name or a date.

It's being designed to hold something even more personal — a voice.

A message.
A laugh.
A few words you never want to forget.

I'm still working on the finishing touches, so I'm not showing you the whole thing just yet.

But I have a feeling this one is going to be pretty special. 🤍

A blank book, ready for whatever comes next. 🤍

I've been having so much fun working on new journal designs lately.

This floral design might be one of my favourites — simple, pretty and just enough detail to make it feel special.

These journals can also be personalized, making them a lovely gift for someone who loves to write, plan, sketch, make lists... or buy beautiful notebooks and then be afraid to write on the first page. 😂

I may know someone like that.

Some things are just better around the kitchen table. 🤍

This is one of the pieces I've been working on for my Heirloom Games collection — made for the kind of evenings where everyone gathers around, gets a little competitive and somehow "just one more game" turns into three. 😂

I love creating pieces like this because they're not just something to put on a shelf. They're meant to be used, enjoyed and brought out again and again.

And yes... I'm working on more games too.

So. Many. Tiny. Letters. 😂

This is one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that doesn't look very exciting at first… but every one of these little letters is going somewhere special.

I'm getting things ready for the Make a Memory Ornament Bar — something new I'm bringing to Christmas at the Glacier this year.

You'll be able to choose the pieces and colours to create an ornament that's personal to you — a name, a memory, someone special. 🤍

There is still lots of sorting and assembling happening over here before October, but I can't wait to show you how this all comes together.

What makes the cut?

This is what product development actually looks like around here. 😂

I've been testing quite a few new designs lately — weddings, babies, families, first Christmases and a few other ideas.

Some I knew immediately were keepers.

Others looked great on the computer… and then I engraved them and thought, nope, not quite. Back to the drawing board.

I'm trying to be much more intentional about what becomes part of Silver Lining Creations. I don't want to add something just because I can make it — I want it to feel like it belongs here.

Looking at this pile, is there one that immediately catches your eye?

This is the part you don't always see.
Before something becomes a finished Silver Lining Creations product, there's usually quite a bit happening behind the scenes.
Designs are tested.�Fonts get changed.�Engraving settings get adjusted.�Some ideas work beautifully.
And some go straight back to the drawing board. 😂
I've been doing a LOT of this lately as I work on new products and prepare for a very busy fall.
I thought I'd start showing you a little more of the CREATE side of Silver Lining Creations — not just the finished pieces.
