The vintage magic bean spoon is a wooden spoon with a “ladder”-like pattern carved into it. While it is connected to both French and Norwegian mythical folklore, it is usually given as a gag gift, the joke being that the spoon allows bean flatulence gas to climb up the ladder and disappear, making the beans now flatulence-free.
