Paid Event Assistant Needed – Ottawa Comiccon (Sept 10–13)
We are looking for a mature, detail-oriented, and dependable assistant to help setup, monitor, and teardown our retail booth during Ottawa Comiccon at the Cohere Centre (formerly EY Centre).
If you are a composed, observant individual who can stay focused in a high-energy environment, we would love to have you on our team for the weekend!

🗓 Schedule Required (Must be available all 4 days): Thursday, Sept 10 (Setup): 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with potential for extra paid hours if setup runs long) Friday, Sept 11: 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM (with potential for extra paid hours if floor stays busy) Saturday, Sept 12: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with potential for extra paid hours if floor stays busy) Sunday, Sept 13: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (plus 2–3 hours post-show teardown)
📋 Key Responsibilities: Assist with physical booth setup on Thursday (unpacking inventory, assembling displays, and stocking shelves). Maintain an active presence around our booth displays to keep an eye on customers and deter theft during show hours. Assist with packing and booth teardown on Sunday evening following show close. Note: No sales or cash handling required.
🎯 Requirements: Sharp Focus & Vigilance: Must be highly attentive, observant, and able to maintain complete FOCUS on booth security without getting distracted by convention activities.
. Physical Ability: Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and able to safely stand on a 3–4 step ladder for booth setup, stocking, and display inspection.
. Composure & Reliability: Mature mindset, high level of responsibility, punctual, and disciplined. Experience: No pop culture knowledge or prior convention experience required—just a solid work ethic and good attention to detail. Availability: Must be able to work all listed shift times across all 4 days, including final Sunday teardown.
💵 Perks & Compensation: Paid Position: Cash payment issued upon completion of Sunday teardown. Show Access: Vendor pass provided so you can enjoy the convention outside your shift hours.
