I made these pieces with all the love and good vibes I could find within me for three incredible women in my life! I'm so grateful for them and their friendship β€οΈ
The bees and honeycomb were created with my Cricut! And as I have a freaky love for mixed media art, I also threw in some paint and yarn for good measure.
A little bit of backstory; as some of you know, I'm a 2x surrogate to two wonderful little boys! After my second surrogacy, I was told I could not have any more babies. I felt many, many things. Alongside all those feelings, I was also pretty sad that I was losing my sense of community. I struggled with this pretty hard as it seems to have been a recurring theme throughout my life, and it was one of the biggest losses of all.
Soon after, two of my very dear friends opened a surrogacy agency called and immediately enveloped me in love as a retired surrogate. My sense of belonging and community was restored and I'm eternally grateful.
Once a year, they invite me to their surro-sleepover, an annual retreat to honour, pamper and appreciate all the incredible surrogates in their community. Every year, I come away feeling loved, appreciated, fulfilled and once again, enveloped in that love that they give with their whole hearts.
I had such a wonderful weekend! I made new connections, laughed entirely too hard and healed just a little bit more. To say I'm grateful is an absolute understatement. β€οΈ
