Tara Simmonds “ I am an academic by training, but a potter by choice – I have come to realize over the years that when given the option of where I want to be, it is almost always in my Pottery studio. I love the magic of throwing pieces on the wheel, the thrill of a successful firing and the joy of having my work loved and used by people in their everyday lives. Aesthetically, I lean heavily on nature and bold colour combinations and always have an eye towards function, comfort, and ease of use. One of my great joys is trying new forms and techniques, so you can always expect a few items that are different than the last time you saw me!” Tara joins us this year at our 10th anniversary Pottery show 54 Locks Rd., Dartmouth 11 –4 p.m.

Karyn Hollasch - “I’m a potter who’s perpetually distracted—in the best way—by clay. There’s always another type to try and far too many glazes whispering “just one more.” I take the slow road at the wheel, happily puttering along and seeing where the clay decides to go. Every piece is a little adventure—slightly imperfect and made with genuine joy. The real magic is knowing my pots end up in someone’s daily rituals—used, enjoyed, and maybe even admired between sips.” Find Karyn’s newest work April 25, 2026. In Dartmouth 54 Locks Rd.
