GOOD MORNING, I feel I need to address an on going issue here at the store. Even though I really, really appreciate donations, there are some limitations. Small businesses in Norfolk County no longer have recycling pick ups and that in itself poses limitations on what’s acceptable. PLEASE CALL THE STORE BETWEEN 10 and 5 TO TALK TO ONE OF US ABOUT DROP OFFS. 519-582-7292
For example, see the photo attached . It’s an apholstered chair. and a very wet and warped frame. Yes, I would normally accept that BUT someone left outside the store after closing and of course, it rained last night. They are completely soaked and pretty much just garbage. Yesterday, when I arrived, someone had left a table out at the back, again, it had rained sometime over the weekend . All of these items, I have had to pay someone to take to the landfill station. This is of course, not the first time this has happened. So, again please call the store to arrange a drop off.
All I ask is that you talk to us and bring stuff here when we are open.

And no, I feel a bin outside is not the answer either.
Sorry to sound so negative but I have to try Social media to address this because all the signs outside the store are NOT working.

I agree, it’s been hard. Please shop local, you are important to us!

My turn to write about the MOVEMENT to SUPPORT your LOCAL small businesses in Port Dover (in particular.). (see the note attached - sorry it's so wordy!!!) I'm speaking for most (maybe not all) but some of these things need to be said so everyone understands what's happening & why so many businesses are ready to give up!
Anything you can do to help your favorite shops & restaurants in town will mean more to them than you know!! Instore, online, on their social media posts...buy some gift certificates.
Hopefully the light is at the end of the tunnel & we can all breathe a sigh of relief soon!
Thank you to the LOCALS who step up!! And to my fellow businesses...hang in there! We're all rooting for each other & will do anything to help. Just stay in touch.
