🦞 New HO Scale Lobster Traps – What Do You Think? 🦞

I've been experimenting with some laser-cut HO scale lobster traps for waterfront scenes, fishing wharves, harbors, and coastal industries.

Before I add these to the Maple Street Models lineup, I'd love to hear your thoughts:

✅ Do they look realistic?
✅ Is this something you'd be interested in adding to your layout?
✅ Would you prefer them sold individually or in multi-packs?

These traps would be right at home:

⚓ Stacked on a fishing wharf waiting for the next trip out
⚓ Piled beside a fish processing plant or fish depot
⚓ Loaded onto a dockside truck for transport
⚓ Scattered around a small fishing village harbor
⚓ Stored beside a lobster boat or fishing shack
⚓ Used as details around a waterfront diorama

Production is in full swing at Maple Street Models!

Today I'm curing another batch of custom 3D printed detail parts for the MSM-03 Black Water Lighthouse as I work through customer orders. It's always satisfying to see these parts come out of the printer and move one step closer to being included in a finished kit.

Each part is carefully cleaned, cured, and inspected before being packaged, helping ensure every customer receives the quality we've worked hard to achieve.

The response to the Black Water Lighthouse has been fantastic, and I want to thank everyone who has already placed an order. Seeing these kits head out the door and onto layouts across North America is incredibly rewarding.

Something new is coming to Maple Street Models... 🌊

Here’s an early look at our upcoming HO scale Nubble Light House kit. This project has been in the works for quite some time, and we’re getting closer to the final reveal. The weathered finish, detailed railing work, and classic coastal character are only the beginning.

But it’s not finished yet...

A full house and extension will also be added to the scene soon, bringing the entire structure to life. Stay tuned as this build continues to evolve!

Sneak peek time!

I’ve been working on a new lighthouse kit for Maple Street Models, and I think I’ve finally got the proportions and dimensions where I want them. Getting the overall look and balance right has taken quite a bit of tweaking, but I’m really happy with how it’s starting to come together.

Before I move further ahead with the design, I’d love to get some feedback from fellow modelers. What do you think of the overall proportions and look so far? Anything you would change, add, or improve?

New product announcement from Maple Street Models!

I’m excited to share that HO scale sidewalks are coming soon to the Maple Street Models lineup and will be available to order in the coming days.

To show how simple and fun they are to work with, I put together a quick video demonstrating how easily they can be painted and weathered for a realistic look. These sidewalks were designed to help add detail, character, and realism to your streets, storefronts, and structures without a complicated build process.
