In my stories I shared that I was cleaning my office. One of my tasks is to organize my stitch markers. (My husband calls them vacuum fodder).
I have several different styles. Some with REALLY cute charms on them.
I find the dangly ones can really get in the way or get caught on my knitting. Or if the charm is heavy it makes my project cumbersome.

If the loop that goes over the needle is a bit thicker I find it can make my sts just a bit looser, not neat and clean.

My favourites are a thin metal loop with a light, small charm. Firefly Notes has excellent markers for that reason.
Honestly, I only started using actual markers about 5 years ago. Before that I used a piece of yarn tied in a loop 🤣

Do you have preferred stitch markers? Do you have certain ones you reach for and ones you use as a last resort?

I went to the Tulip Festival in Ottawa last month. So many beautiful colours and shapes of tulips. They are such a happy flower. 🌷

I couldn’t resist wearing my Blossoming Vest in amongst the flowers. No, the blossoms aren’t tulip shaped but they are joyful!🌼

This is my first steek design. My first vest design. And one of the few with an easy repeat.

Testers are hard at work already, creating some pretty amazing colour combinations. The pattern is scheduled to be released at the end of August. 🗓️

This is a collaboration with Baa-realis Fibre using their fi*****ng Yak Folk Art Collection. This motif can also be found on the Blossoming Cowl. 🧶

What’s your favourite flower? I love peonies! But also daisies…and lilacs… hm, I don’t have a favourite 🤭💐

How about, have you ever steeked before? ✂️

Behind the scenes.
I have a little bit of work to do…
I’m going away for a few weeks and trying to get some ducks (geese?) in a row before I set off.
I’m writing up Brew of Witches Socks so it’s ready for testing when I get back. Comfy Cozy Knits is working on sock sets for this.

I received this gorgeous yak set from GINGERSNAP TM for a collaboration. 💚

And yesterday I received lovely wool from Fleece & Harmony for a collaboration on a sweet sweater. 🐑

Also in the works… a few sock patterns, a couple of mitten patterns, a Christmas sweater… 🪿🐾🪶🎄Wish I had more hands. 🤝
Gotta run, yarn doesn’t cake itself!

What are you working on right now?

I’m so happy how the bottom hems turned out! If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I don’t enjoy stockinette and always want to add some detail at the bottom as a little reward for finishing my plain body. Given the temperament of geese, I thought this was fitting! 🪿

I created the goose and buttercups version of the yoke because I was concerned the goose in raincoats was a step too far into whimsical. Turns out that 65% of the testers have chosen the raincoat version to test 🤣🤭
I hope you’re excited as I am for this to be released Aug 31st!

🐭 Don’t want mice in the shoppe? Omit that shelf and replace with the extra shelf in the pattern or repeat one.
📚 Make each sock slightly different by changing the order of your shelves.

The pattern is 20% off until midnight June 14th (MDT).

I love a good book store. 📚
Stacks and stacks of books from the brand-new to the gently-thumbed to the well-loved. That musty old paper smell and the brand new spine creak. Running my hands across the titles, not knowing what I’m looking for but hoping I’ll find my next great read. Bliss.

Ye Olde Book Shoppe Socks are an homage to the hours we bibliophiles spend wandering through the treasures. And to our own carefully curated book shelves at home.

This pattern is now available in my Ravelry and Etsy shop(pes). It’s 20% off until midnight June 14th (MDT).
Newsletter subscribers, make sure to check your inbox.

Do you have a favourite book? One of my favourites is A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving.
I hope you love these socks as much as I do!

And as always, thank you for being here. 💙

There’s been a lot of renewed interest in my Choose Your Own Fungi sweater pattern, which is lovely to see 🍄‍🟫
This sweater pattern has 22 different charts that you get to mix and match to create your own mushroomy masterpiece. 🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫
Inspired by the magical forest floor you can have an all mushroom sweater or add a wee Fieldmouse 🐭.
Make it more magical with fairies or add some colourful snails and ferns. 🧚🌿
Use psychedelic colours or muted rustic tones. I used some beautiful jeweled colours from 💜♥️💛
The point is for you to play and create something uniquely yours. 🐌
There’s also a children’s version available.

Happy Friday and thanks for being here!
