Curious about beading but not sure where to start? Come learn the basics in a relaxed, welcoming space with Boo-Jee Auntie at the Learning Lodge inside Heritage Village during Silver Skate Festival.

These beginner-friendly drop-in sessions are the perfect way to begin your beading journey. We’ll be working with Crow beads and yarn, learning foundational stitches like brick stitch, pe**te stitch, and square stitch.

Drop in to try one stitch, or stay awhile and explore them all.

🖤 About Boo-Jee Auntie’s Beaded Cree-Ations ✨

For the bold, the loud, and the legendary.

“Boo” is more than a name — it’s a memory.

My dad used to call me Boo when I was little. He passed when I was five, and this work is one of the ways I carry that love forward with me. Every piece I create is stitched with remembrance, connection, and heart.

“Boo” is also a nod to my lifelong love of horror — the eerie, the dramatic, the beautifully dark. Many of my pieces are inspired by horror aesthetics and bold imagery rather than traditional cultural motifs.

I am a Cree artist, and my beadwork is about expression, not expectation.

This is boujie auntie energy in bead form.
Big, bold statement pieces.
Lots of fringe.
Lots of colour.
Nothing subtle.
Nothing apologetic.

These pieces are meant to be seen, to move when you move, and to help you take up space — loudly and proudly.

Alongside my statement work, some pieces are created in honour of MMIWG, Orange Shirt Day, and the LGBTQ2S+ community. These designs are made with care, respect, and intention.

Boo-Jee Auntie’s Beaded Cree-Ations is where love, memory, bold self-expression, and a little spooky magic come together.
