✨ Trying something new is always a little intimidating… and rivets were no exception! ✨

After a bit of trial and error (and realizing the tools I needed didn’t actually come with the rivets 🤨), I finally got everything figured out, and I’m so happy with how these turned out!

Working with webbing is a process all on its own. The edges need to be heat-sealed when cut to prevent fraying, and even creating holes requires a little creativity. I got to break out the soldering iron to carefully melt the hole while sealing the edges at the same time, then finish everything off with a rivet for a clean, durable finish.

The rivets are available in:
🖤 Matte Black
✨ Gold
🤍 Nickel
And BEJEWELED! Bejeweled will be made to order only, you will be able to email for a commissioned piece or come see me at a market and I can have it ready for the NEXT market you see me at or for an extra charge, I can ship it out if you’re not able to make it again!

These wristlets are also available as key fobs and can be customized with fun sayings. This one says “Late but Cute” and I already know someone who needs one! 😂

You’ll find all wristlet styles at the markets I’ll be attending this summer. I’ll also have a budget-friendly option featuring a D-ring instead of a swivel clip or key fob hardware, perfect if you’re looking for the same functionality at a lower price point.

✨ Out of all the zippered bags I’ve made, this one is definitely my favorite! ✨

With a 2” boxed base, it stands open on its own, making it perfect for travel, everyday organization, and keeping all your essentials easy to find. I personally use a few when I travel, one for skincare (travel sizes, of course! 😉), another for hair products, and one for all those little extras that somehow end up floating around my suitcase.

These beauties will be available at the markets I’ll be attending!

Okay, I think we’re getting close! 🎉

After trying a few different options for my coin/card wallet, this version is definitely my favorite so far. 🫶

Hey followers!! This weekend I was able to get a few more pieces done for the shop and decided that for this summer, I’m going to focus on markets! Turns out working full time and trying to start a small business doesn’t happen in a short amount of time, but fear not, the website is coming! Just focusing on markets and stocking for those. I will be showcasing everything that will be available at the market in the coming weeks!

My FIRST market will be Sunday, June 28th at the Millers Crossing farmers market, I believe from 11am-3pm. I would LOVE see you guys there!

I spent the evening turning what some people might call “scraps” into future projects! ✂️✨

First, I sorted all my leftover pieces into piles based on what they can become, then got to work cutting and prepping them into ready-to-use pieces for bookmarks, wristlets, lanyards, catnip pouches, and so much more.

Whenever I’m cutting materials for a project, I ALWAYS save the scraps. ♻️ Waste not, want not! You’d be amazed at how many beautiful and useful creations can come from pieces that might otherwise be tossed aside.

Around here, no good piece goes to waste. Every scrap is just waiting to become something special.

I’ve made the mistake of jumping on Etsy too soon, the site really isn’t user friendly and I had a hell of a time trying to set up different variations that allow you to choose 2 different fabrics, different sizes with different prices. It was getting overwhelming and frustrating. After hearing from a few people, who also had issues, I’ve decided to go with Shopify and register my own domain! Heronandhem.ca

Now that being said, please give me some time while I get this site all set up and ready for sales. I’ve already had more success with adding a custom listing in 30mins then I did my whole time with Etsy…. So I thank you for your patience and understanding during this process! I will be sure to keep everyone updated!

Who thought shipping prices in Canada to ship within Canada was so expensive?! Like even to ship something to Edmonton is over $20 for something that isn’t big or heavy…. From what I can tell, the shipping prices in the shop will calculate a really high price when the item is under a pound and I can make it super small… I don’t want to make my people spend an exorbitant amount just to support me, but I also can’t offer free shipping or a fixed price as I will just lose money.

Of course this is the last thing I thought about. I’m really sorry about this, I need to postpone a few days until I can find a way to make it work for my customers and me to not lose money on shipping.

Please don’t lose hope in me, I will figure this out and let you guys know!

What I will tell you, which I was going to wait but I need to give you guys some good news. I will be doing markets this summer!! Well I’ll be doing 1 market(North Edmonton) a number of times this summer and 1 market(Sherwood park) just once! Am really excited to do a market and getting things ready for my first at the end of June. More info to come!
