What most people undervalue isn’t the slabs, it’s the base underneath them. Skip the road crush and sand base, or rush it, and in a year or two you’ll be repairing sunken or shaky slabs instead of enjoying them. It’s decades, not seasons, so do the base right the first time.

Most landscaping projects don’t stall because of a lack of ideas—they stall somewhere between planning and actually getting started.
