The forecast didn't say it was going to rain, so we went ahead with Chalk Flower Wednesday... only to have the skies open up and wash it all away within 20 minutes of being completed. 🤦‍♀️

Oh well! Chalk art isn't meant to be forever! The suggested flower Becky chose for this week is... Lupine! 💜

If you're from the Maritimes or have spent any time there, you'll be very familiar with these gorgeous flowers, since they grow there like weeds along every highway and culvert. Lupine flowers symbolize imagination, resilience, and admiration, and they take their name from the Latin word for wolf, Lupus.

It was a busy day in the shop, but Becky managed to sneak out for a bit to draw this week's chalk flower! We didn't have a lot of flowers nominated last week, so the ladies of Lavender House chose... The Rose! A lovely bloom of soft, ruffled petals that is often used to symbolize romance and affection. ❤️

We are celebrating Valentine's Day in July with a rose special until the end of the month! Each dozen or two dozen roses in red or mixed colours is marked 20% off. There's no better time to send a thoughtful bouquet to let someone know you're thinking of them.

The flower chosen from your suggestions for this week was the crocus! A beautiful spring bloom that is often the first sign of warmer days ahead. That's kind of perfect for our forecast over the next week. 💜

We're bringing back Valentine's Day... in July! 🩷 Roses Symbolize love, passion, and romance, and we think summer is a great time to celebrate all three!

The rainy weather we've been having lately sure is "putting a damper" on our chalk art fun! 😭

We've decided to postpone this week's flower drawing until next week when the forecast is looking a little drier. We're keeping track of everyone's suggestions, and will include them all in our choice for the next drawing. It looks like we might be getting at least a few days without rain, so let's bring back our Chalk Flower Doodles!

The last flower we drew on our walk was a tulip! We asked all of you what flower you wanted to see next, and the overwhelming winner was... Sunflower! 🌻

These bright, vibrant beauties symbolize joy, so they're a wonderful choice for the sunny days ahead. If you'd like to bring a bit of that sunshine home for yourself, we have sunflowers aplenty in our cooler waiting just for you!
