THE DAYS OF THE DEAD
There is something comforting about taking time to welcome our loved ones close, speak their names and remember the love we shared.
Día de los Mu***os is a Mexican tradition honouring those who have died. Customs vary between families and communities, but these are some of the meanings shared for the days of remembrance:
October 27: Our beloved animal companions
October 28: Those who died suddenly
October 29: Forgotten souls and those lost to water
October 30: Souls without family
October 31: Preparing to welcome our ancestors
November 1: Babies and children
November 2: Adult loved ones
November 3: A time for farewell
For me, these days bring thoughts of family and friends, but especially my dad, Lloyd Hyatt. I miss him dearly and love taking this time to speak his name and feel him close.
May we also remember the souls who have no one left to speak their names. Everyone deserves to be remembered.❤️
