SOME MORE NORTH TOWN CENTRE THROWBACKS!

For 50 years North Town Centre has been more than just a place to shop, it has also been a place where the community came together.

From visits with Santa and the Easter Bunny, to Halloween parties, spelling bees, car shows, live music, petting zoos, and even diaper derby baby races, North Town has been part of generations of family memories in north Edmonton.

We’re bringing that community spirit back for one big anniversary celebration this Sunday.

Join us as North Town Centre turns 50 with a free, family-friendly outdoor event full of music, games, activities, prizes, tenant booths, and retro fun.

In the North Town Centre Parking Lot West of Wendy’s Sunday, May 31 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Come dressed in your 70s best!

For 50years, North Town Centre has been more than just a shopping destination. Since opening its doors in 1976 it has been the heart of north Edmonton—a place where neighbours meet, traditions are formed, and memories are made. On Sunday, May 31st join Anthem Properties as we celebrate North Town Centre: Fifty Years in the Making.

Come honour the families, workers, and businesses that make our community strong. We are looking back with pride and forward with optimism.

Who remembers the old K-Mart, Beaver Lumber, Consumers Distributing, Funland Arcade that helped shape the early days of North Town?

The original grand opening proudly invited Edmontonians to come see the brand-new shopping centre for themselves, with the promise:

“Your first visit will tell you it’s worth it.”

Fifty years later, North Town Centre is still here, still evolving, and still proud to serve this community.

On Sunday, May 31, we invite you to join us as we celebrate 50 years of North Town Centre with a free, family-friendly anniversary event from 1pm to 4pm in the parking lot West of Wendy's. Come dressed in your 1970's best and ready to party.

THEN & NOW — 50 YEARS OF NORTH TOWN CENTRE 🎉

On May 26, 1976, North Town Mall officially opened its doors to north Edmonton. London Drugs is one of several extraordinary, founding tenants who has been with us since 1976 serving our community!

Back then, much of the area north of the centre was still open land, and North Town quickly became a gathering place for families, shoppers, workers, and the growing communities around it.

The original grand opening featured familiar names from another era — K-Mart, Consumers Distributing, Beaver Lumber, Funland Arcade, and many more.

The original slogan proudly read:

“Your first visit will tell you it’s worth it.”

Fifty years later, North Town Centre continues to evolve alongside the community it serves.

From its beginnings as a traditional enclosed mall to the modern shopping and service destination it is today, North Town has remained part of everyday life for generations of Edmontonians.

Now it’s time to celebrate.

Join us on Sunday, May 31 as we turn back the clock and celebrate 50 years of memories, community, and connection with a free family-friendly outdoor event featuring live music, games, activities, food, prizes, tenant booths, and more.
