Hi all. I just want to warn you about a scam going on. I am an employee of Peoples Jewelers Canada. There is a company out there that is on Facebook with photos of our store, and other stores in Canada that look very official.
There are a couple ways to tell the scam from the real thing.
First, you can shop online with this secure link, https://c-linx.com/qVv0E
The other thing to watch for is the pricing. Peoples could never sell a ring that is priced at $2999 for only $60.
One more clue is the website the order is being sent to. If the order does not have people, canada, or looks like it's coming from offshore, DO NOT place the order. Go to the link above to check the difference.
I hope this helps. It makes me sad when a customer comes in for a diamond bond check and the item is not registered and is not even a diamond.

Ok. I am finally back.
The two diamonds below are the same carat (size) and the same color, but do you how cloudy one of them is? This is because nature can leave things behind when forming these gorgeous gems. This is called clarity. Inclusions, sometimes called birthmarks, play an important role in the price of a diamond. In this case, the cloudy diamond is worth about $4000 while the clearer diamond is priced at $8200.

Carat is the second C in the 4 c's of a diamond.
Here are 2 different sizes of diamonds. One is 1/2 carat and the other is a 1 carat diamond. You would think that being twice the size, the 1 carat would be twice the price. This is not the case. 1 out of every million rough diamonds has the quality needed to put into a piece of jewelry. Where as, one out of 100,000 rough diamonds will produce a 1/2 carat. Rarity is another factor in price.

The 1 carat in the picture is retailed at $8299 and the 1/2 carat is retailed at $2999.
