The Alberta Literary Awards Gala will take place in Edmonton on June 5, 2026 at the Wyndham Hotel Conference Centre. Early bird tickets are on sale now until April 17, so be sure to grab yours!

The Gala will announce the 2026 Alberta Literary Awards Winners and feature a buffet dinner and cash bar, with doors opening at 6:00 PM MT.

The WGA Conference takes place June 6 & 7 at the Wyndham Edmonton and offers a discounted hotel rate for all gala attendees staying the night. You must register separately if you are attending both the Conference and Gala.

Writers and aspiring writers, this is the place to be this Spring!

The Writers’ Guild of Alberta’s 2026 Spring Conference: Growing Craft & Community will take place in-person in Edmonton, Alberta from June 6-7, 2026. It will focus on craft insight, tools to help your literary practice, and advice on the business of writing, with a special focus on guided networking time to help you build your literary community. All events will be taking place at the Wyndham Edmonton Hotel and Convention Centre.

We are pleased to share that our keynote speakers are Francine Cunningham and Richard Harrison!

Early bird rates are available until April 17, 2026:
$220 for Members
$250 for Non-Members
$130 for Student Members

The conference will have programming for all writers, emerging to established (and everyone in between), aiming to bring writers together from all over the province.

The conference will provide ample opportunities – guided and self-directed – to meet and interact with other local writers.
