Born in Mexico, César is a Jeweller and CAD Designer with a degree in Industrial Design from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Jalisco. ✨

Naturally curious and driven from a young age, he has always sought to explore materials, master tools, and experiment with distinctive techniques. His interest in jewellery and 3D design deepened during university, where he specialized in Jewelry Design, Manufacturing, and Marketing.

Throughout this period, he took on freelance projects for acquaintances and referrals, which allowed him to broaden his skill set and invest in new tools. The blend of materials, software, and techniques he has since mastered has led to intricate, multi-component pieces exhibited internationally at events such as Milan Design Week 2022, NYC Jewelry Week 2023, and Paris Fashion Week 2025.

Alongside his CAD work, César continues to refine his craft through traditional jewellery-making methods, often working with specialized techniques like the Japanese metalworking process Mokume Gane and the Korean technique Keum Boo.

This balance between digital fabrication and hands-on artistry is central to his identity and fuels his constant pursuit of knowledge and experimentation. He believes that mistakes are an essential part of learning.

César loves watching YouTube for education and entertainment; he loves his grey tabby Mazapan and his tortoiseshell cat Mochi, and speaks French, Spanish, and English.

"What can a person say about Bangkok and Thailand?

Every cliché you’ve ever heard falls drastically short. I want to call it organized chaos, but really it’s not that organized.

The sights and sounds. Spices, street food vendors every few feet! Traffic noise, horns, donkeys, and bicycle bells mix with motorcycles and diesel trucks—usually five or six lanes of traffic on a two-lane street.

The people are amazing, the kindest and most gentle I’ve met. Everywhere you look, you see old colonial buildings mixed with modern office buildings, gold-covered domes of the temples, signs everywhere!

A real feast for the senses.

The region between Thailand and India has really been at the heart of the gemstone world, being a major source of gems and diamonds for 2000 years. And honestly, not that much has changed. Much of the trading has moved into offices, and the Bangkok markets are quieter, but when you get out of the city, things are different.

Miners and dealers haggle over single larger gems and parcels of smaller ones. It’s a way of life, a passion, and uniquely theirs.

For me, whether I’m looking for gems worth a few hundred dollars or ones worth tens of thousands, it’s the place to go.” - Ralph Vandenberg
