I was researching stocks when i came across two stocks that seemed to fit the bill of what I was looking for CP (Canadian Pacific Railroad) and CNR (Canadian National Railroad) Both of these stocks are now in my portfolio building income and dividends. My other stocks seem to be doing well (Dollarama is up $10) and Highliner foods. These stocks are up and down like yo yo's and I am waiting for the income to grow.

Stocks are a great way to build income if you have patience as the gains associated with stocks come in about 20 years. I decided to invest in stocks as I wanted to grow an income to supplement pension income as I think cpp won't be enough to live on by itself.

I have learned along the way not to let emotion get involved with trades as by letting emotion get involved only erodes gains and returns. I have built patience to sit back and let my stocks grow.

Over the next little while I will be adding bank stocks to my portfolio and I am researching the telecommunication industry. Rogers Sugar is also on my radar for future purchases.
