Just wanted to share this moment when I felt so beautiful. So confident. So myself.

As I get closer to 35 I have more and more days where I don't feel like that. Although my 30's are by far the best days of my life I still have days where I don't feel beautiful as I see the number of grey hairs quadrupelling in number. Days when I don't feel confident as I have my mom fails and remember I gave up my teaching career to be totally accessible to my children. Days when I don't feel like myself as I find myself in ruts, unsure where I want to go with MY life.

It could have been the makeup, or the idea of of doing a photo shoot with a talented photographer, the whole atmosphere of the session or my little boy on the side watching me and telling me how beautiful (I'm a sucker for Malik's compliments.)

Whatever it was, it was exactly what I needed.

I 'Fall' in love with Autumn every year! I just wish it wasn't followed by winter!

Definitely well into sweater weather which is the most hijab friendly weather.

Recently I've been more open about my struggle with Faith. I wasn't always this confident and sure of where I belonged spiritually. I knew I was a born Muslim but at some point that wasn't enough for me.

When I realized I had turned away from God, and that he was what was missing in my life I decided I had to figure out what it meant to be Muslim.
❤
Terrified I didn't fit the Good Muslimah box and didn't check off many boxes on that "good Muslim" checklist I struggled to mend that relationship with God that I craved so much.
❤
I started all over again. Getting to know God, Islam and how I could make Islam my way of life. I made my own checklist. I worked on my own relationship with Allah (swt) and became a conscious Muslim
