Another year, another incredible Market season!

What a summer 🌻We planned to cook thirty meals per week… but the support of this beautiful Edmonton community forced us to triple that number each week! The support we’ve received from all of you has been so humbling and brought innumerable opportunities to our Market mothers who faithfully prepared, served, and sold our lunches and products each week this summer.

And speaking of our mothers… we have to hand it to them. Their resourcefulness, creativity, generosity, and never-failing cheerfulness made each week a beautiful adventure, and we are so grateful to them for making this season the wonderful success it was. Rain or shine, the Market flourished each week, and the smiles on each customers’ face told us everything we needed to know.

We are so incredibly excited to enter the fall season with all the changes it will bring for the Market. We’ll be able to focus on bringing the Market into different areas of Edmonton by appearing at popups and conferences throughout the next several months and sharing our products and our mission with you all. We’ll continue providing our mothers with work opportunities and ensuring that they thrive and blossom as they learn new skills and provide for their beautiful families. And we’ll look forward to greeting you all next June for the 2027 Market season. Onwards and upwards, dear friends!

Yesterday our Market was all about Ukrainian food… and we tied with last week’s record of most lunches sold! Thank you to our wonderful community for supporting the Market this season. We can’t wait to welcome you to our last Market of 2026 next week for a taste of Greece! 🇬🇷

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Widynowski’s Sausage House for very generously donating the delicious sausage we served - what a delicious addition to our meal! We are so grateful to the wonderful managers and staff at Widynowski’s for their incredible support of our work at the Gianna Centre and Catholic Social Services.

We are so grateful for all the support the entire community has lavished on our Market this season, and we look forward to welcoming you to our penultimate Market this Thursday… Come ready for a taste of delicious Ukrainian food!

🌧️ Rain tried to crash our fiesta… but our community had other plans! ❤️

Today was officially the biggest Market crowd in our history, and our amazing moms were ready for it!

You brought your friends, coworkers and guests, shared food, stories, and laughter, and filled the Centre with warmth even when it was pouring outside. Think enchiladas, desserts, full plates and happy people everywhere. 🌮🍰

This is what our Market is all about: Connection. Community. Opportunity. Empowerment. (And maybe a little Mexican magic.) ✨

Our Thursday tradition keeps growing. ❤️

Every week, more people choose to pre-order their lunch and join us at The Market at Gianna for a new culinary adventure.

Last Thursday, we travelled to Turkey with homemade köfte, fluffy rice, warm pita, creamy tzatziki, and sweet baklava.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week. Whether you came for lunch, shopped at the Market, or simply stopped by to say hello, you are helping us create meaningful opportunities, build community, and empower the incredible people behind every product and every meal.

What an unforgettable Polish Market Day! ❤️

Because of your incredible support, we received more preorders than ever before—and our amazing moms rose to the challenge, preparing our biggest lunch service yet! It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces enjoying our Polish menu together.

✨ Highlights from the day:

• Our largest lunch service ever
• Our bistro expanded with more seating—and every table was full!
• Polish pork medallions, creamy mushrooms, and wild berry desserts were a huge success
• Fresh garden raspberries and our organic raspberry, blackcurrant, and mint leaf teas became customer favourites
• Every hand-painted birdhouse created by our volunteers found a new home in a single day

☀️ Sunshine, community, live music, and sold-out lunches... what a wonderful Market Day!

Thank you for spending your Thursday with us and making our German Market such a success. Thanks to your enthusiasm, we sold out of all our lunches in just over an hour! We hope you enjoyed authentic German flavours, refreshing homemade lemonade, Black Forest Trifle, and browsing our handcrafted products.

Every visit and every purchase helps create meaningful employment opportunities while supporting Alberta families.

🌦️ Rain or shine, we enjoyed a beautiful Market day yesterday at The Market at Gianna! Customers enjoyed their meals and some shopping inside and, once the sun came out, drifted outdoors to relax in the sunshine with good food and even better company.

Yesterday's featured country was the Philippines! We served authentic Pancit noodles with vegetables, shrimp skewers, and a refreshing tropical fruit cup for dessert.

One of the most meaningful parts of our summer Markets is giving our Market moms free rein to prepare their favourite recipes from their home countries. Every meal is made with tradition, care, and love.

Whether you're purchasing our hand-crafted products or sharing a delicious meal with your friends, your support helps provide the women we serve with meaningful work experience and a brighter future.

Our third Market celebrated all things Canada… especially food! We served our guests a delicious meal of

Huge thanks to the mums who cooked, served, and sold throughout the day, and to our invaluable volunteers who provided live music and support. We are so grateful for the community that’s being built here in this beautiful country of ours!
