Alright my fellow Hooligans, let’s talk Wool Dryer Balls! As I’ve had a few enquires of late I thought I’d take a moment to post a sort of overview, as you will, on why you NEED these in your life.
The number one thing is that they save you time, now, I know you are wondering how can this possible be? How have I not heard of these before? I hear ya! And if saving time wasn’t enough, they save you money too, and last but not least they save the planet.

How do they save you time? you ask.... here it is:
The wool acts as an absorbent to wick away water from the laundry and as wool is known for its quick drying it disperses the water. Also, the tumbling of the balls allows more air to get to the clothes and BONUS there are less wrinkles! This saves time as the dryer doesn’t need to be on as long. I currently use six and a full load....towels, jeans etc takes 15 mins to dry. Also, less wrinkles, no ironing...

How do they save you money?
Apart from the fact that by reducing the time your dryer is on, which in turn directly affects your power consumption, there is less wear and tear on your dryer itself. Less time spent ironing, so again less power used. You never have to replace the balls, as they don’t ever wear out. You can add to them, if you like, (which I’m sure you will want to!) once you have purchased a set they last indefinitely.

How do they save the planet?
Simply put, less waste and less chemical.
As the dryer balls are 100% locally sourced wool, the outside “shell” is crocheted so that it holds the roving that it is stuffed with inside. So no more single use dryer sheets made of plastic and animal fat. These are all natural. As our skin is our biggest organ, not having those chemicals on it is a huge plus!

Our dryer balls are sold in sets of three, at any given time you can use between three and twelve in the dryer.

Although the dryer balls help with static they do not fully eliminate it. When used with natural products like cotton, h**p or linen the static is non existent. I have a couple stubborn sweaters that still really want to static on me, solution to that..... witch hazel with a couple drops of your favourite essential oil, mix in an empty misting bottle, voila, chemical free static guard.
Speaking of essential oils... if you feel you will miss the scent of those fabric softeners.... two drops of essential oils can be used per load. In our house we use lavender oil, it’s economical as well as a non intrusive scent. We recommend you stay away from any citrus oils as they have high flash points and have the potential for fire.

When you get your set of dryer balls they at first can be on the loose side as they will have only been felted a couple times, with use, they will tighten up, this is completely normal.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as we would be more then happy to answer them.
