Notes from the Grooming Table – 2nd Edition is one of the most thorough all-breed pet grooming books on the market. With 640 pages of easy-to-follow instructions and illustrations, it’s an incredible resource for both new groomers and seasoned professionals.

For me personally, when I was grooming full-time, this was an absolute must-have in the salon. It’s one of those books you can keep going back to throughout your grooming career.

📣 A Quick Update from Angie & Bryce at LA Sharpening

Hey everyone!

If you’re planning on sending sharpening in for Master Groom Canada, please get it to us as soon as possible because we’re running out of time!

For whatever reason, this year has been absolutely crazy. Normally this time of year things slow down, but this year has been the complete opposite. We definitely can’t complain—we’re incredibly grateful—but we do want to give everyone a heads-up.

As of right now, once your order comes through our door, please expect 5–7 business days before we’re able to start working on it. If that changes, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.

One thing we’ve always believed is that quality sharpening takes time because good work takes time. We could rush through everyone’s equipment and get it back out the door faster, but that’s simply not how we do things.

If your number one priority is the fastest turnaround possible, there are other sharpeners who may be able to help you sooner. Our priority has always been doing the job right the first time and making sure your equipment leaves here performing the way it should.

Please don’t panic if you don’t hear from us right away, and please don’t call or text frustrated because your order hasn’t been started yet. We promise we’re both working as hard as we can, every single day, to get caught up while still giving every order the attention it deserves.

🎓 A Little Late Posting This, But Better Late Than Never!

One thing I have always believed is that continuing to learn and expand your knowledge is essential. Just like professional dog groomers and hairstylists invest in ongoing education through seminars, workshops, and trade shows, sharpeners need to do the same—especially as technology, materials, and manufacturing processes continue to evolve.

I am proud to have completed Above Edge 2026 in Las Vegas. It was an incredible opportunity to learn from some of the most talented sharpeners in the industry and connect with a community that genuinely supports one another.

A huge thank you to Alex Lee, Dennis Brooks, and Jim O’Donnell for sharing their knowledge and experience. A very special thank you goes out to Sean Pangborn and his wife Tami. Sean took the time to share some extra tips and techniques he uses in his own sharpening business, and they were gracious enough to chauffeur us around Vegas as well!

And of course, I can’t forget my partner-in-crime for the trip, Nicole Huntley of Mountain View Sharpening. Every Vegas adventure needs a good friend to share it with!

One of the things I appreciate most about this industry is that while we may all be competitors on paper, we are also a community. We learn from each other, support each other, and help one another improve our craft.

I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned back to the shop and continue improving the services we provide to our customers. Learning never stops, and that’s what helps us stay at the top of our craft.
