We hope that everyone is having a pleasant Civic holiday weekend. Although the rain may have hindered some plans, it is vital in aiding the efforts to contain the spread of forest fires. The Emporium will be closed in observance of the Civic holiday and will resume operations on Tuesday with exciting additions to our Growing Northern Kids Department. We look forward to serving you between 11 am and 4 pm. Many of you have met the Emporium greeters and store security Moses and Quincy. One of them tends to embark on adventures, so we must be vigilant to prevent his escape.
Look forward to serving you!

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to the many individuals who generously responded to my appeal for clean, ready-to-wear clothing for the wildfire victims. The outpouring of support was remarkable, with 26 boxes, cartons, and bags, as well as 3 large duffle bags, completely filling my Ford Escape. I met Mirlinda at the Deer Trail Rest Stop at 17 & 108, where we successfully transferred the clothing to her vehicle, and she continued on her journey to Thunder Bay, with a planned overnight stop in the Soo. Once again, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved - the community of Elliot Lake is truly commendable!
