🤍Let’s talk Hydrangeas!
Thinking about adding hydrangeas to your garden? Here are a few basics to know!
☀️ Light: Most prefer morning sun and afternoon shade. Too much hot afternoon sun can cause wilting.
💧 Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but well drained. Water deeply during hot, dry weather.
🌱 Soil: Rich, well-draining soil with compost helps hydrangeas thrive.
🌸 Flowers: Blooms can be white, pink, blue, purple, or green as they age.
🩵 Colour: Some hydrangeas can change from pink to blue depending on soil acidity but not all varieties do!
✂️ Pruning: Know your variety before pruning. Some bloom on old wood and others on new wood, so timing matters. (Keep an eye out for a future post all about how to prune each type😉)
