Traditionally used in so many ways! Infusions and teas made from the stems, leaves, and roots have been used to ease coughs, clear congestion, soothe sore throats, and treat lung ailments.
Indigenous groups used root or leaf decoctions to treat colic, stomach aches, and kidney issues. The bark has also been used traditionally as a mild laxative or tonic.
Preparations from the vegetative parts of the plant served to reduce fevers and relieve general body aches and rheumatism.
A weak decoction or infusion made from crushed roots and leaves was sometimes applied as a soothing wash for sore or irritated eyes.
These berries grow vast in our north lands. Started by small white flowers, they look similar to the strawberry flower when blooming. But finish with smallest little red berries for the pickin!
