Today this piece starts its journey to its final home, commemorating and honouring the loss of one of our own. In the fall of 2024 an Indigenous student at Keyano College was killed, her strength, kindness, softness and brilliance lost to a senseless act of violence. There are no words to express what her loss means to her family, friends and our community, but we commit to honouring the beauty of her life and working to protect those who are vulnerable to violence. This piece will hang in the Keyano College Indigenous Center in memory of all the Murdered, Missing and Exploited Indigenous People of this community.
