Not all face paints are created equal. Here's what actually matters when you're choosing:
Glycerin based paints stay soft and flexible even after they dry. They're ideal for base work because they blend easily and won't crack where skin moves. Superstar is a solid choice here.
Wax based paints give you crisp, clean lines and are better for detail work. The tradeoff is they're less flexible, so heavy application on areas that fold (eyes, mouth) can crack. DFX and Tag are the go-to brands.
Powder based paints are designed for heat and humidity. If you're painting outdoors in summer or on someone sweating, powder will hold up where glycerin and wax won't. Mehron Starblends are reliable for this
