Welcome back treasure hunters πŸͺŽ to our answer day of 🌟 Guess That Item 🌟

Today's piece is an antique Davis swing churn made in the late 19th century. These pieces used the rocking motion to fold the butter back onto itself and churn it. This here is a no.7 , the 30 gallon variety that they made for farm estates. Quite a piece of history!

Welcome back treasure hunters to our answer day of 🌟 Guess That Item 🌟 This week's treasure is of course a Detex Newman watchman's clock from the 1930s. If you worked in security the last 20 years you may have actually used one of these, as these pieces were still manufactured till late 2011.

Now there's always a tall tale of security guards unhooking these keys from their station posts, gathering the keys altogether and using an egg timer to "pretend" to clock in at each station. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« Imagine the supervisor finding out that all the guards were just playing cards the whole shift with their watchman clocks and keys all on the table and an egg timer to let them know when they needed to clock in.

50's flashback πŸ“Έ Our beautiful vintage Pepsi-Cola chest vending machine, priced at $400. Built in Deseronto, Ontario, these beauties featured the iconic banana yellow design that was later swapped in the 1960s to the average Pepsi blue that we see today.

Fun fact: in my travels I have seen 1950s Pepsi-Cola chest vending machines that have been painted blue by the previous owner. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
Imagine being a convenience store owner in the 50s, seeing the Pepsi-Cola brand change from yellow to blue and think "Hmm, I better paint my vending chest blue to get with the times!"

What sort of vending machine style do you enjoy? Are you a fan of the banana yellow branding back in the day? Let us know in the comments.

Today we are gonna do a little something different. Rather than guessing the item, we are just gonna showcase a piece of tech that not a lot of people know about : the 8-track player.

Made in 1965 these pieces were the high end luxury of audio especially for car stereos. The beauty of these pieces are the fact that you didn't need to flip or rewind this cartridge. With a simple channel selection and a looping magnetic strip, you could listen to your favourite disco album nonstop.

These pieces were later outdated by the cassette tape, a much cheaper and affordable option for music labels to sell their album. Was the quality the same as 8-track? No, not really, haha.

Do you still collect 8-tracks? What about betamax? Let us know what sort of physical media you collect in the comments below πŸ‘‡πŸΎ
