A long overdue introduction to our summer student Paige! (we waited to introduce her until now because it’s starting to feel like you know what season… and F A L L is our favourite season too! 🍂)

Paige is homegrown right here in Gilbert Plains. She is a monster volleyball player, and is an outside hitter for the GPCI Trojans. 🏐

Her favourite Old September drink is a double sweet vanilla iced latte (or a double sweet iced Matcha latte) and her favourite flowers are like pink roses. She also has a December birthday like me and Andrea and Etta so no wonder she fits in so well here! 💅

We are so lucky and fortunate that Paige asked to work here. It has given me the luxury of time with my kids, which is hard to properly say thanks for. She’s awesome, we love Paige!! ♥️

A couple days ago we hosted Richard Inman & The Western Canadian All-Stars for a last minute show in “The Church.”
I’ve been friends with Richard for almost 20 years. He is one of my favourite songwriters, and one of my favourite people to shoot the s**t with. He’s also probably my only friend that will pick up the phone and call. We should probably be doing more of that for one another!
A sincere thank you to all who attended! It was a magical night, and my heart is filled!

Early August knows the height of summer has come and gone. This year has been such a strange year for all of us in the Parkland. It seems like everything came without warning. Parkas to +30, flooding to no rain, mosquitoes to flies.

Time keeps passing… and in some ways, nothing seems to really change. Now is when we harvest solidago and tansy for our autumn wreaths. (And I know you’ve felt it coming these past couple mornings! It will be here before we know it.)

Hope you and yours are having a wonderful summer. We will try to get back on the social media train for you all! ✌️ 🌾

Saturday August 15, we are hosting Richard Inman and his Western Canadian All-Star band at “The Church” in Gilbert Plains.

Two shows cancelled on us, so, we must make our own last-minute fun. Doors open at 7:00 pm. BYOB to 21 Minto Ave West. Suggested $20-30 per person for the pass the hat.

Richard has been a very good friend of mine for the past 10+ years and one of my most favourite songwriters. Please spread the word!
