On Friday, July 3, our Watershed 144 family experienced a day that none of us will ever forget when a customer, Derek, suffered a sudden medical emergency.

In the face of an unimaginable situation, we witnessed the very best of our community. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who stepped in to help—our staff, the bystanders who immediately began CPR, the generous customer who provided her EpiPens, the first responders, and everyone else who offered assistance, support, and compassion during those critical moments.

It was a true community effort, with so many people coming together without hesitation to do everything they could to help.

While the outcome was heartbreaking, those selfless actions gave Derek’s family the precious gift of time to be by his side and say their goodbyes.

Our hearts continue to be with Derek’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Derek’s family has started a GoFundMe to help support them as they navigate this unimaginable loss. If you are able, please consider donating or sharing the fundraiser. Every act of kindness, no matter how big or small, is deeply appreciated.
