IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!

After nearly a decade of building Shade Tree Chocolate Studio from the ground up, I'm refocusing the business model, stepping away from day-to-day retail sales and shifting toward B2B and specialized projects. This has honestly been the direction I've been wanting to move for a while, and I'm excited to finally make it official.

What's making that possible? I've accepted a full-time job (let's talk about THAT in another post 👀), which means Shade Tree will be closing regular retail sales effective August 31, 2026.

I don't have every detail of the new iteration nailed down yet, but here's what I do know:

→ Commercial kitchen access continues for special projects and B2B orders
→ Occasional pop-ups and events and classes when my schedule allows
→ This page will be the place to catch updates

In the meantime, I'll be at the Grande Prairie Farmer's Market for these last two weekends of August, come say hello and stock up!

And don't worry. Disappearing quietly into the sunset is not exactly my style.

It's time for a change and I'm embracing it with excitement. Stay tuned... 🍫

The Caramel is finally softer on the apples!

We've got about 15 Caramel Apples and 15 candy apples at the market this week.

As well as chocolate dipped frozen bananas (monkey tails) and chocolate dipped frozen cheesecake.

Come find us over by the Lemonade Stand at the Front of the Farmer's Market!

GP Farmer's Market

We promised to have more Caramel Apples Farmer's Market this weekend (and we still will) BUT!

Since we are new to this, we ran into some unexpected "learning experiences".

DON'T WORRY! The apples taste great!

Problem #1: Did you know that you can, in fact, get apples that are TOOOO big?

Yeah, we just discovered what too big is! (Ask us why at the market)

Problem #2: we are still nailing down the Caramel for the apples. This batch ended up being too firm.

What you CAN'T do is eat the apples off the stick.

What you CAN do is take them home, cut them into pieces and enjoy every last bite.

They also taste great if you cut them and microwaved them for about 15 seconds.

Joanne and I really enjoyed splitting our test apple, and ate every last bite.

This weekend only, we will be selling these apples at a reduced price.

Calling all treats on a stick lovers!

Check it out! We've got a whole new lineup ready for the Farmer's Market this weekend!

We've been wanting to experiment on a few things for a while and since the weather's goibg to be hot this weekend, we decided to dip more things on sticks!

If you like the idea of wandering the Market nibbling on a sweet treat, then nailed the mark!

Here's what we'll have:

chocolate dipped frozen cheesecake

chocolate dipped bananas

candy apples

caramel apples.

The candy and caramel apples went over so well last Friday that they sold out within half an hour, so be the first in line, over at their new spot by the Lemonade stand!

We did it! We successfully made our very first Caramel Apples!

These bad boys will be available today at the Farmer's Market!

We only have 10, but if they sell out and you want more, we will certainly create more for next week! (You could evem pre-order them to ensure you got one next week)
