Here is an original 1962 US Press of Brownie Mcghee’s Brownie’s Blues. This ain’t in good shape. Vinyl is G+…lots of marks however no skips. It plays with crackles throughout but oddly and maybe I am the only that actually enjoys the old bacon frying sounds when it comes to old school blues. It makes me feel more connected to the music and the time period. I was once in a ridiculous fight with a guy whom told me he loves Robert Johnson but “won’t ever listen to it none”because it sounds bad. Like. Shut up.
Anyway.

Honestly, I didn’t know about this album until this year, and I must admit to feel shame for not having it entrenched in my soul early. The hype sticker in the pic sums it up perfectly. I promise this album will knock your socks off, if you’re a jazz cat that is. Originals are scarce and very valuable. This is a Mr Bongo reissue which was half-speed mastered at Abbey Road.

Even if you don’t want a copy give it a stream and watch the insanity of the world dissipate. I also apologize if you had to listen to me drone on and on about this album in person.
