This was one of our most difficult items to engrave. Not because the techniques used were difficult, rather, the actual size of the piece was the issue.

It was a 24" × 61" stainless steel sign for the XPS building at the Glencore Smelter in Falconbridge.

It stands there now.. here are a few shots of the before and after.

This is a rather unique "engraving" because its not actually engraved into the steel. Instead, the words and the arrow are annealed, which is a process that uses the laser to heat the surface, while simultaneously changing the composition of the metal, creating a deep and rich, as well as permanent black marking.

Across Northern Ontario, firefighters answer the call under conditions unlike anywhere else in Canada.

They protect remote communities, travel long distances, work through severe winter weather, and serve their neighbours with dedication and professionalism.

Yet despite the unique identity of Northern Ontario's fire service, there has never been a brand built specifically to represent it.
